How do I setup my Outlook, Outlook Express, or Entourage program?

All DM Creative Services hosting accounts include access to POP and SMTP servers for sending and receiveing email. Your POP and SMTP server addresses are extremely simple to remember, and can be used through any standard mail client (such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, etc.). Your POP and SMTP servers are as follows:

POP Server: mail.yourdomain.com

SMTP Server: mail.yourdomain.com

NOTE: Please remember that you MUST check your POP email within 30 minutes of attempting to send through your SMTP server. When you check your POP email, your computer's IP address is recorded by the server, and you will then be permitted to relay (send) email through our SMTP servers. This is to prevent unauthorized parties from relaying SPAM through our mail servers (as much as it is possible).

Important

In the settings of your email client, often in the account options, you will see a checkbox asking if you want to leave email on the server. The answer depends on two situations:

a) When you leave your office, for example - on a business trip, you may want to check this box so you can receive emails using webmail.

b) However, for everyday office situations, do not check this box - and if you do check it when you leave for a business trip, be sure to uncheck it when you return.

The reason is that email will collect on the remote server, left undeleted, and will not only use your bandwidth, but a fully loaded email box will eventually max out your space and cause an interruption in email service. This applies to each email account you activate.
